Molar volume gas lab

V = n × Vm. One mole of any ideal gas at the same temperature and pressure fills the same volume. STP (0 °C, 100 kPa): Vm = 22.71 L mol-1. SATP (25 °C, 100 kPa): Vm = 24.8 L mol-1. Change the gas, the conditions, and whether the two syringes hold equal moles or equal mass.

Set up the two syringes

Conditions
Compare the two gases by
1.00 mol
Gas A
Gas A syringe
Gas B
Gas B syringe

Predict, then test

Take 10.0 g of each gas at the same conditions. Which syringe holds the larger volume? Commit, then switch to Equal mass and see.
