Health in an Australian and Global Context

How healthy Australians are and how that is measured, the groups experiencing inequities, how Australia compares with other OECD countries, the healthcare system and what it costs, the growing use of technology and data, and the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for improving a community's health.

Syllabus note: Health and Movement Science 11–12 (2023), first HSC 2026. Outcomes HM-12-01, HM-12-02 and HM-12-03, with the skills outcomes HM-12-06 to HM-12-10 applied throughout. The syllabus states for this focus area that students do not need to know the latest statistics on rates of illness and death, only to understand the trends; these lessons and their question banks are written to that constraint.
