Question 1

Construct an evidence chain for a modern unexpected result: a sensor reads a high value only near a motor. Include an observation, two alternative explanations and a follow-up comparison.

Question 2

A website tells the crown story but gives no historical source. Explain how to use it cautiously.

Teacher answer key — 2 questions

Model responses identify the essential ideas. Accept scientifically correct alternatives that address the question; wording need not match exactly.

  1. Observation: high readings coincide with motor proximity. Alternatives include a real change in the measured quantity and electrical interference. Compare a calibrated independent instrument and motor on/off conditions while holding position constant.
  2. Treat it as an illustration and seek a credible historical source for factual details. Demonstrate displacement independently; do not use the unsupported anecdote as evidence of a particular event.
